Maxwell Whitaker
Coming from a small town south of Louisville, KY, Maxwell Whitaker represents a new generation of songwriters. Getting his footing recording sparse, lofi EPs and playing DIY shows in basements throughout the small towns dotting central Kentucky, he has developed a bombastic style blending emotionally charged lyrics with sarcastic sensibilities. Since beginning to play in Louisville in 2022, he has been featured at Katie Didit's spotlight series at the Monarch as well as CMA's Terra Firma radio show, hosted by Michael Logsdon.
Since 2024, he has been working on his sophomore album, expected to be released in Spring 2025. Paired with multi-instrumentalist Hector Hinton (of the Reverse Apache Masters), he has created a record of songs that defy categorization. This album represents a massive leap in Maxwell Whitaker's sound, with much more complicated instrumentation and production.
